We are an active group of approximately 45 members, drawing from the Purley, Kenley and Riddlesdown areas.

Led by experienced leaders and supported by Young Leaders and parents, our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts engage in a wide variety of exciting Scouting activities, learning important life skills along the way.

As well as taking part in activities during their weekly meetings, children in each section have the opportunity to go on outings, camps and get involved in district-wide events, bringing them together with other Scout groups in the area.

How to find us

We currently meet at the 19th Purley Headquarters at Wickenden Hall, off Mitchley Hill, South Croydon.

To reach the hall, turn into the gated road near the junction with Mitchley Avenue. Then, take the first right turn onto the track towards the car park at the hall.

Contact us for more information on meeting times.

In memory of Peter Pearce

Peter Pearce

It is with great sadness that we announce the calling to higher service of our Group Scout Leader, Peter Pearce, in January.

Peter, or 'Bagheera' to the Cubs, was at the heart of 11th Purley since its inception in the early 1990's. Throughout his Scouting career, he has been an inspiration to Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts, Leaders, helpers, and friends of the Group as well as being a trusted and loyal friend to many outside of Scouting.

As a District leader Peter did so much for the local Scouting Community, supporting other Scout groups and helping to organise and run district-wide events. Peter's passion for helping the community and changing the lives of so many young people is an inspiration to us all. To recognise Peter's dedication to Scouting, we've set up a donation page to raise funds in his memory to help local Scout groups in the area. You can donate at Just Giving

Thank you, from everyone at 11th Purley.
